Ok, so I've been horrible at posting recently. Between school, work, & dogs I have about 5 mintues a week to sleep!
There's not a whole lot going on here, mid-terms are up and running, which means my brain is about the consistancy of putty.
One small brag if I may, I haven't really been practicing recalls with any consistancy with Wash... yes, I've been lazy, I know bad me... but anyway, this past weekend he recalled
perfectly off not only a hotdog but also a TENNIS BALL!!!(you have to understand how much he loves tennis balls to get just how awesome that is) during our private. We did both about 3 times(so a total of 6 recalls), and he was perfect
every single time! Not even a seconds hesitation. I was such a proud mommy! LOL. Also, Wash is starting to get an attention span and his reactivity is starting to show signs of disappearing. I really can't wait till he can start to forget about other dogs near him.
Muffin who is
super soft and absolutely freaks when he doesn't do something right the first time, was even having a good day. In fact, he was so happy that his insecurities didn't hold him back, so he was doing everything right the first time and that just made him happier! He can't handle any more than 20 minutes of training at a time though, so our perfect day was a little short lived. :-( I still want to get his eyes CERFed(just need to find a time to do it), I'm really beginning to think he has some type of vision problem and that's the root to his fear... that or someone hit with a 2x4 smack in the head when he was a puppy. Based on the way he squints his eys when something comes near his head and the amount of space he likes to keep between himself and other things(including people-this is KILLING our heel), those are the only two causes I can think of.
